Switching to another chart
Know about the flexibility to switch to different charts
Tellius simplifies the process of switching from one chart type to another. However, it's important to note that some charts may not be seamlessly interchangeable due to unique configurations and specific requirements of each chart type.
Compatible switches
The following list details compatible chart types in Tellius, showcasing which charts can be effectively switched to others.
Bar chart: To line, histogram, combo, and pie charts
Line chart: To scatter, area, bar, and combo charts
Scatter plot: To line, bubble, and area charts
Pie chart: To donut, bar, and treemap charts.
Heatmap: To treemap and table charts.
Table: To detail table, pivot table, and histogram.
Histogram: To bar and line charts.
Treemap: To heatmap and pie charts.
Combo chart: To bar, line, and area charts.
Bubble chart: To scatter and line charts.
Detail table: To table and pivot table.
Pivot table: To detail table and table.
Area chart: To line, bar, and scatter charts.
Incompatible switches
The following charts have specific functions and complexities that limit their compatibility with more general chart types (mostly due to the detailed nature of the data they represent).
Complex charts: Sankey, funnel, bubble, and advanced analytical charts (YoY, cohort charts) generally do not switch easily to simpler charts (like bar, line) due to their unique data representation and specialized use.
Maps: Boundary maps and location maps have specific geographic data requirements, making them incompatible with switching to non-geographic chart types.
KPI and KPI target charts: These are highly specialized and do not readily switch to other chart types.
Waterfall charts: Given their unique way of showing sequential changes, they don't switch easily to other chart types.
Confidence range charts: Due to their unique role in representing uncertainty and variability in data predictions, they are not readily compatible with more straightforward chart types (such as bar charts).
Bar conversion charts: These charts are more complex because they often include additional layers of information, such as the rate or percentage of conversion. This makes them less suitable for switching to more basic chart types
Growth chart: Tailored for specific growth tracking; thus not easily switched to other formats.
