# Range slider

Creating and building range slider control filter

When you create a range slider, a control filter widget named ***"Range Slider (chosen\_column)"*** with a dropdown menu and a scale will be displayed.

### Creating a range slider

1. From the required Business View, select the measure for which you want to apply filters.
2. The range of values available for the selected measure will be highlighted.
3. Click on the pencil icon to rename the range slider filter.

### Selecting the values

1. Click on the dropdown menu to select the required operator from the list (equals, does not equal, greater than, greater than or equal to, less than, less than or equal to, and inbetween).

2. According to the selected operator, the minimum and maximum points in the range differs.

{% hint style="info" %}
Only the **Inbetween** operator has two points in the slider. All other operators will have only one point in the slider.
{% endhint %}

3. The current value indicates the previously selected range. Initially, the current value will be the range of available value for the selected measure.
4. When the slider is moved, the color changes to blue. Once the value is set and clicked on **Apply**, the color changes to purple. Click on **Undo** to revert to the previously selected state.

### Formatting a range slider

For the range slider, in addition to the title text formatting shown above, users can also format the color, size, and style for the min-max values and selected values.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.tellius.com/tellius-6.3/vizpads-explore/control-filters/range-slider.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
