Details & Role

On the Settings page, you can find the Users tab where you can manage all users in Tellius. As an administrator, you can create a new user, edit user details, and even delete a user.

User Roles

In Tellius, a role is a collection of permissions allowed to the specific user or a user group. Every user has a specific role to perform operations.

Note: When both user and group have roles, the most permissive role is being applied.

Tellius supports the following user roles:

  • Power user: Users with this role can connect to data sources, create data pipelines, Vizpads, Insights and machine learning models. Along with this, the users can view and edit any objects that are either owned or shared with appropriate object permissions.
  • Interactive User: User with this role can view and edit any objects that are either owned or shared with appropriate object permissions.
  • View User: Users with this role can only view any objects that are owned or shared with appropriate object permissions.
  • Administrator: Users with Administrative role can perform all operations including configuration of Tellius.
  • Explorer: Users with Explorer role can create and view Vizpads.
  • Discoverer: Users with Discoverer role can create and view Insights, and View Vizpads, but cannot create Vizpads.
  • Explore & Discover: Users with this role can perform all functions of Explorer and Discoverer, i.e. create and view Insights and Vizpads. Note that this user would not be able to perform other functions such as loading data, nor creating Predict/ML models.

Roles

The user roles Explorer, Discoverer, and Explore & Discover provides certain privileges related to creating and viewing Insights and Vizpad.

The Explorer role allows you to create Vizpads, the Discoverer role allows you to generate Insights and also view Vizpads and Explore and Discover role is a combination of both. Refer Figure for various permissions assigned to various roles.

Note: These roles allow only a subset of the functionality available in the platform to power users. For instance, these users are limited in that they cannot import or transform new data, nor can they create AutoML machine learning models in the Predict section.

To check the user roles and permissions
