Patch 6.1.0.3
Tellius 6.1.0.3 is a major update. Kaiya now supports unstructured data analysis, allowing you to connect PDFs and document sources and ask grounded, citation-backed questions directly within conversational AI. This patch also improves Vizpad reliability and usability, and adds key admin/integration enhancements. You’ll see smoother scheduled refresh/reporting behavior, more consistent formatting and filtering in charts/tables, faster and more predictable Kaiya query handling (including voice and follow-ups), and better visibility across unstructured workspaces, documents, and datasources, while keeping data access aligned with Row-Level Policies.
🚀 New feature
Ask Kaiya questions across your PDFs and more
We've added unstructured data capabilities so you can connect document sources and ask questions about the content inside your files, directly in Kaiya. This is designed for teams who keep critical business context in PDFs (policy documents, research reports, call notes, regulatory updates, conference notes) and want fast, verifiable answers without manually searching through folders.
We’ve added new unstructured connectors and ingestion paths, including:
Google Drive
Google Cloud Storage
Azure Blob Storage
AWS S3
Gong
File upload (PDF)
Under Data, once you connect your unstructured files, you can select “Unstructured data” and ask questions in Kaiya conversational AI.
Kaiya supports intelligent document processing, natural language search, and key entity extraction. It returns answers with document-level citations so you can verify where each statement came from.
During setup, Kaiya processes documents and automatically organizes files into clusters (“workspaces”) to improve retrieval. At query time, Kaiya uses a hybrid retrieval approach (keyword + semantic search) to surface the most relevant information.
You can search across large document libraries and get complete answers grounded in your documents with clear source attribution, reducing time spent locating specific policy, competitive, clinical, or operational details buried in long PDFs.
For example, a medical or commercial team connects a Drive folder of payer policies and asks, “What restrictions are mentioned for Drug A across these plans?” Kaiya responds with a consolidated answer and points back to the source documents used.
🛠️ Minor fixes
When “Switch Metric” is disabled in a Vizpad, that preference is now preserved across sessions and page refreshes.
The charts and tables in Kaiya responses now render years and numeric fields using the display units and number formatting configured in Data → Prepare → Metadata.
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where previously removed columns could reappear (or duplicate) after changes like aggregation or number-format updates. Now the saved column set stays consistent across edits and refreshes.
In Kaiya, failed requests are now handled more gracefully, showing a user-friendly error message.
In Vizpads, improved the Refresh scheduling dialog so required fields like Refresh Name and Subject display clear input borders/states.
In Vizpads, improved null-filter handling so “Include Nulls” selections generate the expected results.
Updated the Kaiya code-generation prompt text in Data → Prepare → SQL/Python Transform for consistency.
In Vizpads, improved the appearance of chart settings (for example, grid lines), so updates made in Edit mode now persist correctly after saving or refreshing.
Under Settings, fixed the issue with toggle state of Advanced Settings not persisting correctly after refresh/reopen when sub-settings were enabled.
In Kaiya workflows, enhanced trigger matching logic so saved Agentic workflows are invoked only when the user’s question closely aligns, minimizing accidental activations. Older saved Insights are less likely to trigger unintentionally, and results better match the current question.
In Notifications → Advanced → Sync Jobs, fixed an issue where the failed jobs are not correctly marked as Failed.
In Vizpads, improved PowerPoint export so users get clear guidance if the browser blocks the pop-up action.
Kaiya responses now let you download/export the full list of citations (sources) used for an answer, so you can easily review, share, and validate references.
In Vizpads tables, you can now sort directly from table column headers. Click once for ascending, again for descending, and a third time to clear. Sorting additional columns automatically adds them to the existing sort order (multi-column sort).
Scheduled Vizpad sharing now respects Row-Level Policy (RLP), ensuring each user or group receives data based on their access.
In Vizpads, improved layout for control filters to remove extra blank space, especially on smaller tiles, so filters render more compactly and cleanly across screen sizes.
Fixed an issue where sometimes Vizpads could get stuck in a loading state after applying filters. Charts now load and render reliably.
In Search, fixed an issue with incorrect identification of columns in dedup-enabled Business Views.
Improved cleanup and recovery for failed data write jobs, preventing stale temporary artifacts and reducing resource overhead.
In Vizpads, fixed Point-in-Time calculations so they consistently return the latest record within the selected time range, whether your date field uses a timeline, a resolution, or both.
In Vizpads → Control filters → Multi-Select List, fixed an issue where searching for a column value and clearing selections did not properly refresh or display the available values.
In the scheduled reports of Vizpads, added support for sending scheduled reports to user groups. Reports are generated per unique Row Level Policy (RLP) so each recipient receives data filtered to their access.
In Vizpads, improved the Business View (BV) selection flow so users with access to only one Business View are no longer prompted to choose a BV.
In Kaiya responses, added an option to disable intermediate result outputs.
In the voice mode of Kaiya, fixed an issue where starting a new voice conversation sometimes did not proceed further than the “Connecting” screen.
In the query results of Insights (Group By), added reflection instructions to ensure NULL ordering is correctly applied when sorting grouped query results.
In Kaiya voice mode, improved the welcome message.
In the pivot tables of Vizpads, fixed an issue where weekly date resolution (Saturday week start) showed incorrect column ranges and headers.
In Kaiya → Unstructured → Workspaces, fixed an issue where the Workspaces page only showed the first 15 results.
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where the chart title placeholder was shown for Text and Image objects.
In the query execution of Insights, reduced unnecessary automatic query retries, improving performance and stability for join, null-handling, formula, and date scenarios.
In Kaiya, improved performance for follow-up analytical queries on the same Business View.
In Kaiya, fixed an issue where automatic Business View (BV) selection. Kaiya now correctly auto-selects the relevant BV and reflects it in the BV dropdown.
In Kaiya, improved performance by optimizing when web search and filter extraction run, ensuring faster responses whether or not a Business View is preselected.
For system maintenance, added tooling to detect and optionally clean up unused checkpoint directories.
Under Vizpads → Refresh, fixed an issue where updating a scheduled Vizpad refresh time after the first run could sometimes fail to trigger at the newly saved time.
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where filtering on large numeric values could return or display an incorrect “rounded/off-by” value.
In Kaiya → Unstructured, enhanced document list responses to include all the datasource details (ID, name, type, status).
Under Data → Connectors → Spark SQL, fixed an issue where calendar table writeback failed for Spark SQL connections with SSL enabled..
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where chart color palettes were duplicated after importing a Vizpad.
