Deleting a user

Hardik Chheda Updated by Hardik Chheda

Since deletion is a destructive and cascading operation that can create an unintended loss of content, Tellius precautionarily displays each data source, dataset, Business View, Vizpad, Insight, and Model associated with a user before deleting them

To avoid data loss, Tellius suggests reassigning all the existing data to a different user before deleting the account.

  1. Once you click on the Delete user icon next to any user name, the following window will appear, listing all the content owned by that particular user.
  2. Click on the checkbox next to Re-assign Content to transfer the ownership to a different user. Failure to do so will result in the loss of all the data owned by the user.
  3. Enter the username in the Search by username field.
  4. Type “I understand that I will lose all content” in the box after reassignment.
  5. Click on Delete to delete the user account.

A similar setup is followed when a dataset, Business View, or Project is deleted.

Manifold confirmation on deletion of user account
In cases of failure to reassign to another user, all the content owned by that user will be permanently deleted and cannot be reverted.
