Patch 5.6.0.1
This patch focuses on polishing the overall Tellius experience with bug fixes, performance improvements, and UI refinements across Vizpads, Data Preparation, Business Views, and Kaiya. We’ve improved consistency in filters and formatting, resolved multiple issues with charts, tables, and scheduling, and added clearer error handling to make workflows smoother.
📈 Enhancements
You can now manage session recordings directly from Settings → Advanced → Usage → Enable Session Recording. When enabled, all activities performed during your session will be automatically recorded, giving visibility into your usage activity.

You can now migrate datasets uploaded via file upload to Amazon S3. Provide the S3 datasource ID and target path, with validation and overwrite options if needed. Once migrated, the dataset switches seamlessly to S3, with full support for import and export (not available earlier for file-upload datasets).

You can now turn on or off the new hierarchical pivot tables—with grouping and easy expand/collapse—under Settings → Application Settings → Vizpad → Use new pivot table toggle.

🛠️ Minor fixes
Fixed issue to ensure data tables load smoothly and remain responsive when working with large datasets, improving overall stability and performance in grid views.
Under Data → Prepare, fixed issue where Pandas Python transformations failed validation, showing incorrect errors. Validation now handles date columns and non-date datasets correctly.
In Vizpads, fixed issue where KPI Target charts showed incorrect data labels.
Fixed issue where Vizpad refresh schedules displayed incorrect times due to UTC conversion errors. Scheduling now correctly converts local date and time into UTC.
Fixed issue where the Tellius Homepage scrollbar caused layout inconsistencies; now improved responsiveness and smoother container handling.
In Vizpads, fixed issues where changing the date resolution in view mode applied only to the first chart/table, instead of updating all relevant charts.
Fixed an issue where the Kaiya input box occasionally became unresponsive. The text area and spinner components now behave consistently.
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where some users could not scroll to view all date mappings in the Date Alignment Mapping window. Additionally, Vizpads now refresh correctly when tab filters are removed and new date ranges are applied, ensuring a more consistent filtering experience.
Under Data → Prepare, fixed issue where publishing metadata changes redirected users back to the previously edited dataset.
Under Data → Prepare → Data → Column Transform → Move Column, resolved an issue where the moving of columns (before/after column options) did not correctly reposition columns.
Resolved an issue where searching tables in the Spark SQL connector failed when using the advanced JDBC URL option with more than 400 tables.
In Vizpads, fixed issue where date mappings were not displayed in the time picker when using “Use Alignment Mapping”.
In Insights, resolved a problem where negative changes in trend drivers were incorrectly displayed as 0.00; actual negative value is now shown.
In Vizpads, resolved an issue where pulldown/dropdown lists would automatically reset to a 2×2 size after cloning or when reopening a saved Vizpad; now, dropdown and pulldown lists maintain their chosen minimum size consistently,
Fixed issue where hidden Business Views still appeared in Kaiya if they were already selected. The search list and selection now update instantly after publish.
Fixed issue where refreshing CSV datasets could fail when the file name contained spaces or parentheses.
In Vizpads, fixed issue where resolution filters could not be reapplied or retained after switching tabs and views.
Improvements to Feed List page:
Under Manage Feeds, the "Create Date" column has been renamed to Created Date for better clarity.
Feed creation times will now show in your local browser time instead of UTC, making it easier to track and understand when Feeds were created.
When sharing a Feed, updated the information displayed in the window.
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where number formatting did not reset correctly when numeric fields were converted from Measure to Dimension, ensuring consistent and accurate display of values.
Fixed the following UI issues in the home page:
Improved dropdown menus with cleaner styling and consistent behavior.
Refreshed form layouts for better alignment and readability.
Added clear empty states and localized labels for Favorites, Recently Used, and Trending tabs.
Enhanced the learning dialog with modernized layout, updated icons, and new empty state for Popular Queries.
Refined the Kaiya landing page layout with left alignment and smoother scrolling for a better user experience.
Switching between tabs in Vizpads with multiple visualizations is now smoother and more reliable.
Resolved an issue where renaming a benchmark in a saved Vizpad caused errors, preventing further edits.
In Vizpads, you can now set Master View as your default view, just like custom views. When you’re already working within a view, the Save Changes button now gives you the option to either create a new view or overwrite the current one, making it easier to manage and update your views.
Fixed issue where Unique Count and Median aggregations were failing on row-level calculated columns in Business Views with Deduplication enabled. Unique Count now works correctly for both Snowflake and Redshift. Median aggregation works for Snowflake.
Improved how queries using “for each” are handled in Kaiya. Dimensions are now applied more consistently as grouping fields, ensuring stable results when switching between top/bottom queries (for example, changing from “top 2” to “top 3”).
When renaming a dataset directly from the Data → Datasets page, provided duplicate name validation to be triggered consistently.
In Vizpads, fixed the issue when a table is created with a compare condition filter, where the second column generated by the compare filter was not impacted by formatting changes applied through Values Alignment.
The following fixes were done to the Custom Views in Vizpads:
When you delete a custom view, its filter is now also removed, keeping things consistent after reload.
You can no longer delete the view you’re currently using, which avoids accidental loss.
Clicking Revert Changes now clears the “unsaved changes” message.
After overwriting a custom view, the "Overwrite" button is disabled until you switch to a different view.
In Vizpads, fixed an issue where saving a custom view with overwrite did not retain filters consistently. The fix ensures that both global and tab-level filters are now preserved when a custom view is overwritten.
In Vizpads, fixed the issue where applying a global date filter with measure-date alignment mapping could appear incorrect due to the header text; the label now reads “Applied date range” (replacing “Available dates”), so it's clear which dates are actually being used, even if timezones differ.
Fixed the issue where longer column names in the filter section of Manage Feeds were not fully visible. Scroll functionality has now been added to ensure users can view and navigate lengthy filter column names without truncation.
Fixed issue where error messages were not displayed while loading the Vizpad list page.
When sharing a Vizpad, fixed the issue where the user dropdown list did not populate with the available users and groups. Additionally, the placeholder text has been updated to guide users more clearly: “Type first/last name, username, email or user group name.”
In Vizpads, fixed the layout, overlap, and UI issues with the conditional formatting of pivot tables.
In Vizpads, resolved an issue where charts would not sort correctly when using one measure for the chart and another for sorting.
In Vizpads, streamlined how static labels work, making them more flexible and easier to use.
Static label boxes can now be resized as small as 1x1, giving you more layout control.
Even in compact sizes (1x1 or 2x1), you can scroll to view placeholder text and formatting options.
Validated compatibility with list controls, copy-to-clipboard, text objects, and pulldown menus in small layouts.
In Kaiya, if you ask a question where both metric (like sales, profit, or count) and a category (like product, region, or customer) are missing, Kaiya will now ask a clarifying question.
In Kaiya Learnings, sorting now works more intuitively, not only by creation and update time, but also by query and phrase name.
Fixed issue where Python Transform validation failed due to a transient HDFS configuration problem.
When creating calculated columns, if you use the wrong keyword or syntax, Tellius now provides clear error messages that highlight exactly what’s incorrect and guide you toward the correct format.
Under Data → Business Views → Calculated Columns, fixed issues where sorting and search did not work in the columns list.
In Vizpad charts, fixed issue where benchmark and target lines could disappear after reload—especially when the line value was outside the visible data range.
